Chika chika Slim Shady. Just kidding, my name is Michelle. 🙂
I used to be a pizza addict until I had an epic awakening (or breakdown) during Covid-19. Six weeks of lockdown highlighted my pizza addiction in a major way. When I first decided to give up pizza, I had no idea what I would gain in return as my focus was solely on what I was giving up. How could I live life without pizza?
I feel I have come home to myself and who I was always meant to be now that the veil of addiction has been lifted. Lifting this veil has allowed me to re-gain my health, lose weight and become an advocate for the animals and this planet.

Back in 2019 I had an initial goal to lose 100 lbs and I’d like to invite you to join me in my journey to lose the last 40 lbs. This blog will feature current day updates of how I am doing with this goal, but will also feature flashbacks as I reflect back on my life as a non-vegan and the epic transition it took for me to get here.
I am creating this blog as a way to hold myself accountable to continue on my path to goal and I feel strongly that my own success story is one that can benefit the animals by inspiring others to dip their toe into the vegan lifestyle.
While I so wish I could say I watched one video of what happens to animals to end up on our plates and I gave up eating them immediately, that is not my story. I have had a multitude of seeds whack me on the head over the past two decades and while I update you on my weight loss goal, I will reflect back on some of those seeds.
I hope animal advocates can learn from my story to gain insight on what seeds took root and grew as this may help you in your own advocacy. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their advocacy in helping awaken me and so many others.
For those of you who aren’t vegan, I welcome you here. My intent is never to shame or judge anyone for their choices. I used to eat animals too. I wasn’t born vegan. I do hope you stay and have a curious mind to learn about how someone can transform their life. I will weave in stories of what happens to animals as I flashback to my old self and I hope you don’t turn away when I do. Now more than ever the animals and the planet need us all to awaken, and I hope that perfectionism doesn’t get in the way of anyone trying something new.
I didn’t start my journey back in 2019 with the goal to become vegan, but I did have a goal to become healthy and it is that initial goal that led me here.

Peace, love & plants,
Michelle 🙂
