My Before & After Pics

When I started my weight loss journey I was a size 18, but if I’m being honest, I was more likely a size 20, but simply refused to go up a size so stuffed myself into my clothes.

For this reason, it made it difficult for me to notice my progress. At one point, I had lost around 30 lbs but was still wearing the exact same size. While my clothes certainly fit better, it didn’t feel like I was making progress.

After I lost 60 lbs, I still felt I looked the same and didn’t really notice a huge difference, though I was feeling GREAT and finally down ONE SIZE (maybe two sizes depending on the brand). It’s for this reason, my friend Rebecca sent me an old photo of myself. Since I still had the same shirt, I decided to do a before/after picture and VOILA! I could now SEE the results.

It was really important for ME to SEE my results as it’s hugely motivating! I was feeling de-motivated before these pictures and my journey was at risk of being derailed, so huge thank you to my friend for kickstarting this photo series!

To anyone starting a weight loss journey, I highly recommend keeping some of the same old clothes on hand for your own before/after pictures. Check out a few more pics below.

p.s. My husband took the below picture and I first accused him of adding a skinny filter to my ‘after’ photo but he assured me this was legit and there was hashtag no filters added. πŸ™‚

Notice the beer in hand in the below picture and water in my hand in the after pic πŸ™‚

Of course the before pic has pie and ice cream in front of me, I should have had a bowl of fruit in my after pic!

I do still wear these snow pants, even though they are falling off! Ooh did I mention my calves can now fit into winter boots. This is great news for walking my dog in the snowy field. πŸ™‚
